The
Office of Faculty and Staff Labor Relations reports to the
Executive Vice President for Administration and CFO with a dotted line to the
University’s General Counsel and provides strategic leadership and direction for the University’s labor relations and collective bargaining functions.
We work in concert with the
Department of Human Resources to ensure that University personnel actions are in compliance with requirements imposed by relevant collective bargaining agreements, University and State employment policies, and employment laws. HR and Labor Relations share offices in the Brown Building at the University’s Depot Campus located on Rte. 44 in Storrs.
We work closely with the Provost’s office concerning faculty collective bargaining and academic personnel matters. Under the oversight and direction of the University’s General Counsel, labor relations attorneys also provide legal advice and counsel to the University on various legal issues associated with the employment relationship and represent the University in actual and potential employment-related administrative proceedings and litigation.
